A good IT project manager in Poland earns well above the market average. According to Sedlak & Sedlak data (wynagrodzenia.pl), the median salary for an IT project manager is about 16 thousand PLN gross monthly, while 25% of the highest paid specialists exceed 19 700 PLN, and heads of project areas fall between 30 000 and 50 000 PLN gross. This is noticeably higher than the median for the general "project manager" category (about 9 - 10 thousand), a difference linked to specialization and complexity of the projects managed.

The form of cooperation yields an additional premium. According to inhire reports (IT Market Snapshot), the average rate in the IT sector on B2B contracts remains at around 21 thousand PLN net, compared to about 17 thousand PLN gross on an employment contract, making the B2B model consistently more profitable than employment. This is why B2B has become the dominant form: in Q2 2025 about 64% of offers included a B2B option. For an independent specialist, this means that working as an independent contractor, rather than an employee, is the market standard.

These rates do not come from nowhere, they are backed by growing demand. Poland is one of the largest IT hubs in Central Europe: according to McKinsey estimates quoted in the Country Commercial Guide on trade.gov, the value of the digital economy is around 44 billion USD and could rise to 123 billion USD by 2030, representing about 9% of GDP. The state and the EU are investing in digital transformation (cloud services, data centers, cybersecurity), and these investments directly drive the demand for people in project organization and supervision.

Demand remains stable even in a cooling market. In Q2 2025, 36 425 job offers were published in IT, representing a 4.77% increase quarter-on-quarter and 7.64% year-on-year. At the same time, the number of recruiting companies fell: the market is consolidating, but the need for project coordination and supervision remains constant. Companies need people who can monitor timelines, coordinate project participants and ensure a timely, orderly workflow.

Conclusion: the organizational and supervisory profile (coordination, supervision, workflow monitoring on a B2B basis) is a growing and stable market segment where a good specialist does not experience a lack of projects and receives a market premium for independence.
